2013 American Music Awards: Memorable Performances

Katy Perry opened the show with her song “Unconditionally,” sporting a kimono and a grand Japanese theme.

Lady Gaga and R. Kelly put on an entertaining theatrical performance with a presidential themed version of their song “Do What You Want.”

Miley Cyrus surprisingly didn't bust out her infamous twerk as she kept things pretty toned down. Nonetheless, she didn't shy away from showing skin of course. With a huge moving digital cat on the screen behind her, she performed “Wrecking Ball.”

Jennifer "JLO" Lopez paid a huge homage to Cuban legend Celia Cruz, as she got her own tribute at this year's American Music Awards, and Jennifer Lopez made sure it was a truly spicy one with a load of Latina flare! It was a spectacular, colourful, bottom shaking performance filled with about two or three wardrobe changes.

Recently crowned Hip-Hop's next King, Kendrick Lamar performed "Swimming Pools" and "Poetic Justice" at the 2013 American Music Awards.

Nominated for three awards, Imagine Dragons performed an outstanding, heaven-like performance at the American Music Awards.

A Great Big World Christina Aguilera performed a breathtaking performance as they pulled off a beautiful duet to "Say Something" at the 2013 American Music Awards. This single debut at #1 on the Billboards chart in its first week!

At the American Music Award, we recognized Rihanna, an artist who has sold 50 million albums and 180 digital tracks worldwide. Forbes calls her the Number One Social Media Artist and Billboard says she is the Number One Artist of the 2010's (our current decade). She performed "Diamonds" in a sleek black number, accented with gold accessories during the American Music Awards on November 24, 2013.
