Yesterday's hump day Wednesday started off super early, super grey, super rainy and super eventful. I had an 8 a.m. call time for two make-up sessions showcasing two looks (day and evening) in the city's east end of King and Jarvis. Upon boarding the train, there were constant announcements of severe delays - I was already cutting it close for time. I hopped off at Yonge and Bloor and attempted to flag down a cab - every cab was taken and I was left soaked. Alas, I hopped into the cab paid my $15 and went about my appointment.
Whilst sitting in the chair getting my make-up done, I kid you not, the entire time I was falling in and out of sleep, starving and craving pizza. But not just any pizza, pizza from Toronto's West Queen West district where North of Brooklyn Pizzeria is located. I've tasted it once two days prior and I was hooked! Last time, I went for their Margherita pizza which consists of their homemade sauce, mozzarella and basil. This time around, I went all out and ordered their White pizza made with mozzarella, garlic ricotta and a fresh blend of arugula vinaigrette salad. On top of that, I also tried their Garlic Knots, which they say, "It's like garlic bread, just better," and topped it off with a nice cold Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.
Following the night was Toronto Raptors' fifth playoffs game against none other than, the Brooklyn Nets. My lunch may have been a little bit of an oxymoron as I am representing the North with my city but I've got to say, Brooklyn hit the spot with that banging meal! All-in-all, Toronto won, 115-113 so I don't feel as terrible.
