A night with the Goddess who Stole my Soul, BANKS

Last night I had the fortunate opportunity to see my current favorite artist (from Los Angeles, California), BANKS perform live at one of Toronto's hottest spots, The Hoxton. Luckily enough, one of my clients whom I style who goes by the name of Richard Lambert, owns The Hoxton (along with Parts & Labour and Dog & Bearand was evidently able to pull some strings for me last minute to make this memorable night happen. Banks set the mood on many levels as I sipped on whiskey on the rocks and swayed to her voice; feeling every nerve and every hair on my body raise. Her voice and her tone is bone chilling yet relaxing. She performed her tracks seamlessly. It is more than safe to say that she sounds beyond amazing and accurate live. Her aura is enticing — her wrist rolls and body rolls as she feels the music is definitely something to witness. She even expressed to the crowd, "I feel your energy, it's vibrating into my soul." Song after song I fell obsessively in love with her energy. Her lyrics speak to me on extreme volumes; she understands, she gets it, she gets me. Every one of her songs are my favorite but she played my top three beautifully: Brain, Drowning and Change. I will never forget this feeling or this experience. It was touching on a personal level.
