Being in the creative field means constantly on the go; constantly attending events, constantly attending meetings, constantly meeting up over coffee, cocktails, lunch or dinner. As a freelance journalist and stylist, your days, weeks and months are never a dull moment. Even in the comfort of my own home, I'm glued to my MacBook or iPhone; there are constant emails to be sent and replied to and constant deadlines of some sort. The majority of the time, my schedule leaves minimal time to squeeze in a solid workout. However, Nike Canada's Communications Director, Claire Rankine, came to my rescue and invited me to a few media only workouts with the Nike Training Club. Thank goodness, because my body needed that!
For this media only workout, myself and a handful of other female journalists, reporters, on-air personalities and bloggers had the opportunity to test out the new Nike Studio Wrap Pack 2 Print alongside an intense bodyweight workout with Nike's Master Trainer and women's fitness expert, Eva Redpath.
Testing out our new Nike Studio Wraps required us to get down and face our own bodyweight with a workout inspired by Nike Training Club's pro surfer, Carissa Moore's "Beach Balance Workout". It's safe to say that Eva Redpath had us strengthening and toning our cores.
I'm a fan of high intensity workouts and runs so this was my first time testing out a product outside of a running shoe. The innovative Nike Studio Wrap Pack is typically designed to have you feeling nearly barefoot yet secure. Made up of just a wrap, a ribbon and a flat, this three-part footwear system combines a definite barefoot feel with protection, traction, support and style all wrapped up in one (pun intended). I enjoyed the comfort of it and it was definitely the best suited footwear apparel to go with my day's balance and core workout.
After an intense muscle training workout, we were gifted with a ballet inspired wrapped cropped sweater which makes for an easy throw on before and after the gym. And because BOLT Fresh Bar is a proud supporter, we were rejuvenated with scrumptious Açai Bowls.
It was certainly a rewarding and great experience all around and I'm looking forward to plenty more!
