Adidas Canada is organizing the most unique 10K run ever. On November 1st daylight savings time ends and we turn back the clocks one hour at 2 a.m., which makes November 1st a 25-hour day. And what better way to use that extra hour than to #runmore?
Runners are encouraged to register online at www.runmore.ca/runmore10k. Entry to the event costs $35 and all money raised goes towards the Canadian Olympic Foundation. The Canadian Olympic Foundation raises philanthropic funds to support the: Canadian Olympic team, the next generation athletic talent and the Canadian sport system that powers their performances. By participating in the Adidas #runmore 10k, you're automatically supporting our athletes through funding six athlete development pillars, including: competition, daily training, coaching, equipment, sport science and nutrition.
In order to sustain Olympic podium success, Canada must support athletes fix to eight years from the podium. Through Adidas' #runmore campaign, donations will fund these next generation Olympians who are striving to achieve results at the Tokyo 2020 Games and the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
In the lead up to race night, Adidas will be hosting training runs that are open to the public every Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m. at the Adidas flagship store on Yonge and Dundas.
On November 1, the 10K run starts at Ontario Place at 1:00 a.m. and when runners are done within the hour mark, the clocks go back and it’s 1 a.m. all over again. By all means, you can’t say you don’t have time, because it doesn’t cost you any!
Once runners have crossed the finish line, there will be a celebratory post race party with a DJ, photo booths, food trucks galore, and loads of beer.
Adidas encourages runners to use the hashtag, #runmore to share their experiences on social media.
See you at the start and finish line!
